Hair Combs

Combs are all handmade with hand hammered bronze teeth. The tops, however, can usually be made of bronze or nickel silver, or copper, in the case of the Kinky Comb. The Rainbow Comb is always tri-color. The Sheet Comb is always brass.

Dennis has been making combs for more than 20 years, and he has the technique down! All of his girlfriends have had long hair. The combs are curved to the shape of the head and the metal teeth are hammered so they will work even on thin hair. In fact, if you have thick hair you might request less hammering or use your fingernail to separate the teeth a bit. You'll find that metal teeth do not "give" like plastic teeth but rather grip to last.

Combs come in three sizes:

Regular: Teeth are 2" wide by 1.75" long: $15. each
Medium: teeth are 3" wide by 1.75" long: $25.00 each
Large: Teeth are 4" wide by 1.75"long: $40.00 each

Our French Twist Comb has fewer teeth, but the teeth are 2.5 " long & the comb is 4.50" wide. We make it with the Architectural top, but other designs are possible. The price of this comb is $40.00

Our newest style is the Spanish style comb, which is used to hold the top of a bun in place. This comb has the fewer teeth, is 3" wide and 2.5" long. We only do the Fan Top and each curl is soldered together so that nothing can get caught in it. This comb is priced at $45.00.

Except for the Celtic designs, which are cast, each comb is a unique creation. Stones can be chosen in a variety of colors and sizes. we are just trying to give you a broad overview of what is available. The width of the French Twist comb can be modified as well if needed, as can ALL the combs. The Spanish comb is twice the width of the long comb, but both styles are actually the same length. Pictures are all now thumbnails, so you should be able to pull up a full-size picture. I also tried to give you some ideas by taking some demo pictures with my hair. Let us know what you like.
